Training

Training is one of the fundamental elements of the skill development process. The training conducted by MSME PCI can be segregated into three different segments.

Training of trainees

The first segment is the training of trainees — candidates aspiring to be trained in specific skills. These trainings are carried out by training partners affiliated with MSME PCI across different crafts and programmes.

MSME PCI provides training from scratch in a given job role, and also supports trainees who already have prior knowledge with additional requirements such as quality aspects.

Core stages

MSME PCI skilling workflow

Training of trainers (TOT)

The trainers must be knowledgeable and equipped to deliver training effectively. MSME PCI conducts training of trainers to build their capacities so they can guide trainees to meet expected standards.

Training of assessors (TOA)

Assessment measures the quality of training and trainees. MSME PCI trains assessors on assessment standards and criteria so evaluations remain consistent and credible.

Assessment

Proper assessment is essential to uphold skill outcomes. Certified assessors evaluate trainees against MSME PCI standards; TOA programmes support assessors in applying those standards.

Certification

After training and successful assessment, trainees receive certification reflecting grades or marks earned through the evaluation process.
